I adore the Barry M Gelly collection. The addition of these 3 polishes mean the total number of Gelly nail paints stands at 37.

Barry M Spring '15 Gelly Hi-Shine Nail Paints, Plumpy, Cotton, Fondant & Sky Blue

First up is Cotton, a slightly off white creme. The formula is thick, like most Gellys but it's very opaque and applies easily. I used 2 coats and topped it off with Plumpy (the new Gelly topcoat).

Fondant is a sweet pinky toned, berry lilac. The formula of this was a little thinner than Cotton which meant I needed 3 thin coats. I also topped it off with Plumpy (love saying that).

Sky Blue is a pastel aqua colour. The formula was similar to Fondant but a tad more opaque. I used 3 coats plus Plumpy. If you do thick coats with these Gelly polishes, you'll end up with bubbles in the polish which never look nice, so go easy, be patient and think 'thin is best'.

Plumpy is not a quick dry topcoat, however it is touch dry pretty quickly (5mins). Barry M have used a new style brush with this topcoat that's flat with a rounded end. It's makes application incredibly accurate and you can cover the nail in topcoat very easily. I hope they roll this brush out to all their nail paints as it's a winner in my books.

Overall these colours are lovely and a great addition to the range. Lorraine from Barry M described them perfectly yesterday when she said they're colours within colours. I am sure there are plenty more Gellys to come, we've still not seen a true yellow and I feel like we're also missing a rainforest green colour.

You can buy these 3 new Gelly nail paints from Barry M online, Superdrug on the 11th Feb and Boots on the 18th Feb for £3.99 each. Plumpy Gelly topcoat will be released on the same days and will cost £2.99 which is a bargain!

  1. I love the look of Fondant and Cotton will definitely become a part of my nail polish staples. It'll be interesting to do a comparison with that purple from the new Models Own Icing collection, when it gets released!

  3. Cotton is a must for me, in my quest for the perfect white polish, but they all look lovely. I really hope they're on 3 for 2 when they come out. And I agree with you about the brush, would be great to see a flatter shape used for the Gellys.
