Barry M's pivotal launch this Spring is their Speedy Quick Dry range of nail paints. These 9 pastel coloured polishes have been designed to dry quickly without compromising the shine of a longer drying polish.

Barry M Speedy Quick Dry Nail Paint Collection

As ever Barry M have themed the lids and names of this 9 piece around the collection title. I adore the checkered lids and clever formula one style names. The colours, as far removed from car racing as can be are gorgeous for this time of year. On a side note wouldn't it be much more enjoyable to watch racing if the cars were painted in these gorgeous pastel colours?

Yes these polishes dry quickly, I timed 70 secs for a thin coat to dry which is fab. Should you be hasty and apply before it is dry you'll drag the previous coat and will need to start over ... not so speedy. The formula on these is great with most needing 3 coats, however considering the drying time, it wasn't a problem for me. One word of cuction, when applying a couple of these colours I found I ended up with a few bubbles on the nail, so be prepared to pop these before it dries.

Full Throttle is a bright mango sorbet colour. It's so warming that I am sure this will be a big favourite of mine come the summer. I used 3 coats and Plumpy topcoat for these pictures.

Eat My Dust is an icy blue. This colour is so cold, but beautiful. I used 3 coats, plus topcoat for the pictures.

Road Rage is best described as a muted mint. It's so pretty on and I can see this being a hit on release. Again it was good to go in 3 coats and I applied Plumpy to give it extra shine.

In A Heart Beat is a red toned coral. I love these types of shades and again, am sure this will be a colour I'll wear right through summer. I used 3 coats plus Plumpy.

Pole Position is a bright, pastel, spring green colour that touches on neon. I love these types of green and am so pleased Barry M have released something like this as I felt it was missing from their range. I used 3 coats and topcoat.

Pit Stop is a lovely pastel grey. I only needed 2 coats of this and I was actually surprised at how much I loved this colour. It's sophisticated and warming, I can see it being on the nails of many office workers this year.

Stop The Clock is a pale yellow that I think looks a lot like melted vanilla ice cream. It's a lot brighter out of the bottle and on the nail. I used 3 coats and topcoat for the pictures.

Lap Of Honour was the colour that first caught my eye at the launch. I'd say this colour is mauve and it does lean grey, but it's unmistakably gorgeous. Like Pit Stop I only needed 2 coats and added Plumpy for extra shine.

Kiss Me Quick is a bright baby pink. Barry M do all colours so well but I am always a fan of their pinks. I used 3 coats plus Plumpy for the pics.

Wow, what a collection. I am always so excited to see what Barry M bring out and they have not disappointed this spring. I wasn't sure they could top last year but they are already well on they way to doing that.

These Speedy Quick Dry nail paints will be released on the 11th February in Superdrug and the 18th February in Boots for £3.99 each. I can see these racing off the shelves (sorry, I had to include at least one pun in this post)! You can also buy them after these dates on Barry M.com.

Will you be buying any? Which is your fave colour so far?

P.S I created my accent nail using the Barry M nail art pens. Do you like it?

  1. These are fantastic! Oddly enough though I fancy the green and orange one most, even though they are not my usual colour. I hope they will be available in Tesco too so I can buy a few of them using my Clubcard voucher - guiltfree shopping. BTW, I love your accent nail!

    1. Those 2 bright ones are among my faves. Thanks, I wasn't sure if I was going to do an accent nail for these swatches but I thought I'd try and it worked out ok! Have fun shopping when these come out x

  2. Wow...! Definitely going for a 'Lap Of Honour', pulling up fast for a 'Pit Stop', and if you think you can stop me buying my top three (and probably all the others too), you can 'Eat My Dust'! After all, you've restrained on the puns so we don't have to - lol! Seriously, I gotta get more Barry M's, my stash (is yours aiming for four figures?!) has just a pitiful few so far, but you're defo converting me to this bargain brand! :-D And your accent nail is fab-u-LOUS! Tx

    1. Wow, you're pun-tastic! I love all these colours so much, I don't envy you trying to chose. I would highly recommend this bargain brand, it's def my fave out there xx
Ps thanks about the accent nail, I wasn't sure at first but now I'm glad I did it!

    2. Apologies if you've already covered this in another post, but... I'm not great at nail art, so usually go for a wrap - which yours looks like! - but I'd like to give it a go. Thing is, I've had bad experiences with (non-Barry M) nail pens being a bit wishy-washy, so how did you achieve such a solid design? All the great colour combinations that could be used - getting inspired! Tx

    3. I painted this accent nail rather than use a wrap. I used the nail paints to draw the lines down and across my nail to create the squares and then painted in the black with a small nail art brush and black polish.

    4. I meant nail pens. They're great for creating lines and then to get solid colour use nail polish to fill in the gaps. I painted the nail white to begin with of course.

    5. Barry M nail pens - tick, Plumpy top coat - tick (if it's gonna make my mani shine like these, I've gotta have it!), Speedy Quick Dry collection - oh, noooooo... :-O I've been saving up my Boots points for a guilt-free nail splurge, but making me wait til 18th Feb? Hello Superdrug, just 10 more sleeps...! ;-D

  3. Just a note love, you've accidentally labelled 'Pit Stop' as 'Eat My Dust' in your totally gorgeous swatches... Tx

  4. Love the accent nail and your swatches are stunning as always. Will probably end up with them all. 😁
Can I just ask you a question about your photography?
Where and what do you use to take your photos? Do you have a light box? Which camera? Lighting. Your pictures are always so beautiful and well lit. xx

    1. Hear, hear - I was wondering the same! And your hands and nails are stunning - do you model? Tx

    2. Thanks, you'll love them all.
I only use my iphone and a daylight bulb. I edit everything on my phone. There no secret, although I think more bulbs may make the photos clearer. xx

    3. Tricia, thanks. I do not model but I appreciate the compliment. My fingers are too chubby for that :) x

  5. Wow I'm actually really impressed by these! Tbh when I first saw the promo images I thought the speed dry thing was an unnecessary gimmick, quick/slow dry time apparently isn't on my radar. But these are very nice colours in their own right. I love Eat My Dust, Pole Position, Pit Stop and Stop the Clock. Also amazing straight lines on that accent!
