Happy Saturday all, don't you just love waking up on a bank holiday weekend? Although I'm now way past 'Super Sundays', I do love long lunch dates, shopping and late night reading sessions. This weekend I have some sleep and nail blogging to catch up on.

Speaking of which, I've finally got some gorgeous pictures of Barry M's new Coconut Infusion Nail Paint collection for you. Yes they're a little overdue but please forgive me.

Happy Thursday all. Where has the time gone since I last blogged? I honestly thought I'd come back to spiders and cobwebs but we all know my blog has lay unloved for much longer periods of time (my bad).

Any way, a couple of weeks ago the lovely people over at Itsy Nails London sent me some of their gorgeous DuroPro gel shades.

Confessions Of A Nail Polish Addict Tag

Tuesday, 12 April 2016

This tag has been doing the rounds for a year or so now but I've never taken part in it, I'm not really sure why as I love reading blog posts featuring this tag. Also with over 1000 polishes in my collection I must surely count as an addict.

This tag comprises of 13 nail related questions and I hope you enjoy reading my answers as much as I enjoyed writing them.

1. What nail polish are you wearing on your nails (and toes) right now?
Jessica Nails It Girl, this polish is spring perfection and is my colour of choice for work this week. It Girl is from Jessica Nails new Spring 2016 collection 'Pop Couture'.

2. What is one nail product you can't live without?
Cuticle oil.
I never realised how much nicer my nails look (and others) and how healthier they are when they're properly moisturised. I always carry around cuticle oil in my bag, I have a bottle by my bed and on my desk at work and I've recently purchased a couple of new bottles to place by the sinks in my house, so that I can immediately pop some on after I wash my hands.

My fave cuticle oil is Artistic's Revive as it has a gorgeous citrus scent and applies beautifully with no stickiness. You can buy this from Nail Polish Direct for £5.95 for 15ml.

3. What is your favourite nail brand (mainstream and indie)?
Mainstream is Barry M, without question. I have over 300 different Barry M shades and get so excited when they release new nail paints. I literally stalk them ... it's that bad. I also think that as far as high street nail brands go, they're in a league of their own and are always bringing out new and exciting nail products.

I have to also mention Models Own, I love their large bottles, their bright and bold collections and the fact that they always come up with something really unique. They're a very close second to Barry M.

Indie - this is more difficult as I don't tend to buy many indies so don't really have a fave brand.

4. What shape nail do you wear (short or long)?
I wear my nails mid length with square ends. I have to admit to really disliking long nails that are squared, I look back on some of my older pictures and see how long they are and hate them. If I was to grow my nails long I'd wear them either stiletto or almond shaped now as I love these shapes the most.

5. What is your go-to colour?
Pink, this has to be my favourite colour for nail polish and I love baby through to screaming neon pink. I'm not fussy and love them all.

6. What is your favourite nail polish finish?
Matte or Textured or Glitter or Duochrome, no wait Multichrome, arghhh maybe Satin ... it's no good, I just can't pick.

7. What's on your nail polish wishlist?
Everything by OPI and China Glaze from the last year, I have nothing from either or these brands and they always feature on my wish list posts (see my latest wishlist post here).
If I had to narrow it down, it would be OPI's Colour Paints collection, I still don't know why I haven't got these, but I will never be truly happy until I do.

8. When do your normally paint your nails (morning, afternoon or evening)?
There's no defined time, I love painting my nails in the evening and afternoon but on my day's off I usually get them painted in the morning.

9. What's your top nail tip you swear by?
Wear a strengthening basecoat like OPI Nail Envy or one from Barry M's new manicure range like Iron Man. Make sure you follow the instructions and reapply it every few days. It's important that you treat your nails like your skin or hair if you expect them to stay long, strong and healthy.

10. What nail polish do you regret buying?
Nope, all nail polish is amazing.
Ok, I maybe regret buying Barry M's Sequin nail paints as they were so lumpy, bumpy and strange when dry and I've never worn them again. However I would still have splashed my cash on them, seeing as I collect Barry M nail paints, so it doesn't really matter either way.

11. Neons or pastels? Brights or darks?
Neons and Pastels, I couldn't pick between them as I love them both so much.
Brights over Darks anytime, anywhere. I really dislike darks and tend to wear them only in nail art. Even during the winter I tend to wear neutrals and grays over berries and deeper shades.

12. What is your holy grail white, black & nude polish?
Holy Grail White - 'White Light' by Models Own. This is perfect in 2 coats and dries beautifully shiny.

Holy Grail Black - 'Black Magic' by Models Own is a perfect 1 coater and dries so quickly.

Holy Grail Neutral - 'Do It Like A Nude' by Barry M from their original Sunset Daylight curing collection. It's gorgeous and suits my skin tone perfectly. It's a classic nude but doesn't look too old-lady like when on. The only down side is it needs 3 coats, but we can't have it all can we. View the Sunset Daylight Curing collection post featuring Do It Like A Nude here.

13. What is one brand you want to try but haven't yet?
I would love to try some Glam Polish and Picture Polish shades, they always look incredible and I love the range of colours and finishes that both these brands produce.

Please let me know your fave brands in the comments below and let me know which brands/colours you'd suggest I try.

Jessica 'Pop Couture' Collection - Swatches & Review

Sunday's here and it's time for me to stop ignoring the fact that my Easter holidays are over and I'm back to work tomorrow. This isn't a bad thing, I'm actually looking forward to it, but what it means is that I have to stop putting off those boring jobs I've been saying I'll do on that oh so mythical and productive 'tomorrow'.

As well as loving everything nail related I have a big thing for accessories, imagine Gossip Girl mixed with Reign.

Primark PS Matte Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Tuesday, 5 April 2016

Happy Tuesday everyone, I hope you're all having a nice start to the week. Mine has been lovely, lots of fun emails and exciting blog plans. The only downside is it's been so cold despite the gorgeous sunshine, that I've been sat at my desk shivering away, hugging my hot water bottle and drinking tea by the gallon.

Today I have some new-ish colours from Primark's PS beauty range to show you, it's been just over 2 years since I reviewed some of Primark's colours so if you want, you can check that old post out here. These 2 newer polishes are from their matte collection and come in gorgeous frosted bottles. I grabbed these to try, mainly because they were cheap (80p) but also because I still adore matte finishes.

April Fools Day 2016 - A Round Up

Friday, 1 April 2016

How is it already April? I don't mind the time going by, but does it really need to go by so quickly! I can't believe we've had a third of 2016, it'll be Christmas again before we know it.

April the 1st ... well more specifically April fools is possibly the most fun day in the beauty calendar. I look forward to seeing all the crazy hoax posts from brands popping up in my social media all morning, so much so that I'm usually in more of a rush to get online and see what's going on.

As in previous years (see 2014 here and 2015 here), the beauty brands didn't disappoint, however it was great to see some other companies coming up with some hilarious ideas as well. Today's post is a summary of some of the April Fools posts that did the rounds this morning and I warn you, there were more than ever so this post is very picture heavy.
