Primark P.S. Beauty New Spring Nail Polishes - Review & Swatches

Saturday, 4 June 2016

Happy Saturday everyone, hope you've had a lovely weekend so far. Been up to anything nice?

Around about 2 months ago I popped into Primark and picked up some of their new nail polish colours, you can read my review of the Matte nail polishes I picked up at the same time here. Now I am not sure why I haven't swatched these 5 spring shades before now, but I have them for you today.  (on a side note I also grabbed 5 of the newer Summer colours this week, which I will show you soon because they're gorgeous & I can't wait as long to swatch them).

Candy Pink is a typical raspberry toned, pink creme. There's nothing exciting about it but it is very pretty all the same. Shown here is 3 coats plus topcoat.

Calypso is a gorgeously bright red toned, coral neon. I used 3 thin coats for full coverage, plus topcoat.

Cornflower is a bold blue with a hint of lilac, which is more apparent in real life than in these photos. I needed 2 thick coats for full coverage and added topcoat for the photos below.

Custard is a mellow pastel yellow. This had the worst formula of the bunch, however I often find that yellows are the worst formula wise. I needed 4 thin coats to smooth out all patches and added a topcoat for extra shine. You can see the floral nail art I created using Custard as the base here.

Lastly I have Melba, a pastel peach colour. I needed 3 coats for full coverage, plus topcoat for the photos below.

So there we have it, I would recommend Calypso and Cornflower out of these 5. For the price they have the best formula and are easy to work with. However I would stay away from Custard, the watery formula was so difficult to work with and by the time you have built up the colour, your nails are so thick it looks like you're wearing cheap false nails.

You can buy Primark's P.S. Beauty nail polishes for 80p each from all stores nationwide.

  1. I really love the look of Cornflower. I'm a sucker for blues and that looks beautiful.

    1. Me too, they're my kind of colours for summer. Some of the formulas are tricky to work with but most are really good even though they're cheap. You should def check out the beauty range when you're next in one xxx
