26 GNAI - Halloween In The Wrong Colours

Friday, 28 October 2016

So I've decided to join in the 26 Great Nail Art Idea challenge, created by Crumpet's Nail Tarts. On my blog I am going to go back in time to the 14th and post my first manicure sometime in the near future - does that even make sense? Anyway today I bring you Halloween In The Wrong Colours.

Having already done a fair few manicures, in a wide range of colours, deciding which palette to use was a little difficult. However I decided on neon and am so glad I did.

I used Models Own 'Lemon Popsicle' (from their Soft Pop collection) as the base, 'lsland Hop' (from their 2016 Polish For Tans collection) for the stamping, Rica 'Bottled Unicorn Fart' for the accent nails and Barry M 'Matte Topcoat' to finish.

I decided to stamp on a design using a bargain Halloween plate I picked up from ebay. It came in a pack of 2 and cost £2.29 for the pair (link here).

I'm totally obsessed with stamping now and although I'm still pretty rubbish, I can see my measly 4 plate collection growing rather rapidly over the next couple of months.

So what do you think of this design? Do you love the change up of colours from the typical orange, green, black and purple?

Vicky

    1. Thank you Tracy, I'm so pleased people liked it. Stamping is still not my best friend, it's takes a while & sometimes I have about 3 or 4 failed images in a row, but I'm learning & getting there :)
The plate is amazing, I didn't want to invest in anything too expensive in case I didn't get on with it. Now I can stamp, I need to buy all the plates!

    2. If it makes you feel any better I have been stamping for years (literally!) and I have some days that I can't stamp to save myself. It's always going to be a learning process and there are sooooo many factors that can make stamping not work. You are doing an awesome job!

    3. Thank you, for me it's a very time consuming way of doing nail art at the minute. It takes more time than freehand as I end up wasting so much time redoing bay stamped nails. It's nice in a way to know it still happens to the experts, but it's also a little frustrating. One day I'll master it xx
