The Christmas Tag - Part 1

Wednesday, 14 December 2016

So I read someones blog the other week (sorry I've forgotten) and their post featured 'The Christmas Tag'. As a major Christmas fanatic, I knew I needed to do my own version, especially as I have never done it before.

However after reading through the questions I realised I wanted to add, move and remove some. So this is my version, 20 festive questions which I am going to spread over 2 posts. I hope you enjoy ... ho ho ho!

1. What are your top 5 favourite Christmas movies?
I love most Christmas movies and I'm really struggling to cut them down to just 5, but my favourites to watch multiple times each year are 'Polar Express', 'Arthur Christmas', 'Muppets Christmas Carol', 'Love Actually' and 'Elf'.

2. What are your top 5 favourite Christmas songs?
This list will change depending on the day you ask, but today my faves are:
      1. White Christmas - Otis Redding
      2. The Christmas Song - Nat King Cole
      3. It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Michael Bublé
      4. Carol of The Bells - any version
      5. It's The Most Wonderful Time of The Year - Andy Williams

3. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
I have a fake tree, it's 8ft tall and wonderful! See my Christmas Tree Nails post here which explains a little more about my tree.

4. Do you colour code your Christmas decorations?
Yes, my decoration colours are Red, White & Green. If I had more storage in my home, I'd love to try a more opulent purple/gold theme. However until we move to a bigger place, I'm sticking to the same theme and year on year growing my collection of decs.

5. Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Not that I can remember, if we ever get snow it's usually after Christmas. I'd love to go somewhere where snow was guaranteed though, it would make it all the more magical.

6. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
In my family, all the present opening happened on Christmas Day. Even now as an adult I wait until Christmas Day, it's so much more exciting.

7. Where do you usually spend Christmas Day?
I usually spend Christmas Day with my fiancé in our own home. Since we moved in together we made it clear that we'd visit relatives either side of Christmas, but that the day itself was for us and I'm glad to say it's stayed that way. I love being in my own home, especially at Christmas time.

8. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer?
There's Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen, but do you recall, the most famous reindeer of all. Rudolph the red nose reindeer .... yes, yes I can (*smug face).

9. What Christmas traditions are you most looking forward to this year?
We have lots of little traditions but going to see the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra play 'Last Night At The Christmas Proms' is the one I'm most excited for this year. Myself and my fiancé have gone every year for a long time, however this year we've got all my family and my fiancé's mum and aunt coming too. It's going to be so fun. We always wear Christmas jumpers, eat ice-cream at half time and I leave feeling so festive and ready for the big day.

10. What would be your dream place to visit during the holiday season?
My dream place to visit at Christmas would be Hogwarts. I'd love to stay in Gryffindor tower and spend my days walking around the snowy grounds, shopping in Hogsmeade, eating in The Great Hall and exploring the castle. Then in the evening I'd snuggle up by the fire and go to bed in a four poster bed! #lifegoals

Please let me know if you've done The Christmas Tag and if so leave a link in the comments below. Also ask me some Christmas questions, I'll collate them in another post, I could happily answer Christmas questions forever.

I hope you like my slightly edited version and make sure you come back for part 2.

Vicky xx
