Essie - Treat Love & Color Review

PR Sample

Today I have a review of one of Essie's new Treat Love & Color range. This range is Essie's first advanced care and colour formula, designed to give you stronger nails with less breakage and peeling in just 1 week.

There are 3 pastel sheers available and I was lucky enough to be sent the gorgeous 'Sheers to you'.

As with all these "seems too good to be true products", I was very curious and immediately started testing it out. I followed the instructions and applied 2 coats to my nails and refreshed every 5 days (it suggests 7 but I noticed some chips at my tips on a couple of nails). After a week I noticed that the nails on my cinderella hand did indeed feel a little stronger (my right nails are weaker than my left). After a couple of weeks I noticed a vast improvement. Although I don't suffer with peeling, my breakage rate was massively down and my nails held up at a reasonable length far longer than they usually would.

Sheers to you is a soft baby pink with pink shimmer. It gives your nails a very pale pink sheen and the shimmer just makes them glow. It's subtle enough to wear for all occasions and the fact that the strengthener has a tint of colour makes this a godsend for those too lazy to give themselves a full on manicure.

As with any product, consistent use is important and I am going to carry on using it when I'm not wearing a polish. However because of the tinge of colour, this isn't a great option for wearing underneath a polish. For that I'll stick to my other clear strengtheners.

If you're interested in trying out one of these Treat Love & Color strengtheners, you can grab them from Boots & Superdrug stores priced at £8.99 each.

Hope you've had a lovely weekend. Let me know what you think about this product, is it something you'd use?

    1. I'm so glad you like it, the colour is sheer and although I do have a little staining, luckily it didn't seem to show too badly.

  3. This looks gorgeous! And you're right it would be perfect for days when you don't want a full mani but don't want naked nails either.

  5. I just bought the laven-dearly shade! It's exactly what I need right now. Low maintenance, and nourishing, but it still looks like an effort was made. I usually have long beautiful nails, but sometimes in winter they become brittle and snap off easily.

    1. That shade looks gorgeous & I'm glad you like it. The formula is perfect and I love the shimmery glow it gives my nails, it really makes them seem polished. My nails are very dry at the minute so I'm using mine as often as I can to give them an extra boost xx
