New Rimmel Rita Ora 'My Grey' Swatch & Nail Art

Friday, 27 January 2017

Another week done and another weekend has dawned. I love that Friday feeling and the thought of 2 days of freedom stretched out before you. I have lots of exciting nail swatching to do over the next 48 hours and plan to slip in a couple of hot baths and lots of TV time.

Today I have a quick review and some nail art using Rimmel London's new Rita Ora nail polish in My Grey.

This polish was released as part of a larger 5-piece beauty collection called 'Rita Ora Grey' and is inspired by the soon to be released movie, 50 Shades Darker, in which Rita Ora has a role.

My Grey
This blue tinged stone grey creme polish has a dreamy formula. I needed only 1 coat for this swatch (it was quite a thick one) and added a coat of topcoat. This polish appears slightly different in different lights, but generally takes on a darker hue.

I decided to add some hearts to the mani, after all 50 Shades is based around a love story, albeit a slightly unconventional one.

I used Rimmel's Double Decker Red and freehanded the hearts on my accent nail. I then added a coat of matte topcoat to give it a silky finish.

If you're interested in grabbing My Grey, it's on sale in Superdrug priced at £2.99 (although as it was brand new out, I picked it up on offer at £1.99). Double Decker Red is on sale priced at £2.99,

Have a lovely Friday night and let me know your thoughts on this polish and my rather shoddy nail art (I know why people get addicted to stamping now, the lines are so much cleaner).

  3. Love! Your free-hand ability is why stamping was created--it's amazing! There's no way I could get my hands to make hearts that well. ;)

  4. Love it in the matte and I'm not a massive matte fan. But it's a lovely grey shade - more for the halloweeny nail art in my opinion. But I love the little love heart as a tribute to valentines xx

    1. I agree it's more of a moody colour. It would look great in the autumn, I'll def use it this coming Halloween xx
