Kiko Matte For You Nail Polish Duo

Wednesday, 15 February 2017

Hope you all had a great valentines yesterday. I was lucky enough to get a beautiful bouquet, the illustrated copy of The Chamber of Secret and a massive bag of mini eggs. Books, chocolate and flowers really are the way to my heart. If you're not really that bothered about valentines, I hope you had a great day nonetheless.

Today I have a very valentines-esque post for you. I picked up these Kiko 'Matte For You' polishes the other day and thought it was a great time to share them.

I love that we have access to lots more brands (including kiko) here within the UK. They often release cute collections and their makeup is not only afforably but really good.

Silky Rosy Nude
This pale nude has a pink tinge that's so pretty. The formula is a little on the thick side so application is a tad clunky. However I managed to get a reasonably smooth finish with 2 coats. It dried very quickly and to a matte finish (obviously).

Amorous Cherry
This deep red is a gorgeous colour, it actually dries a little darker than it applies. Again the formula was on the thick side, but nothing I couldn't work with and again I needed only 2 coats.

I love matte nails, and I love these 2 polishes. However I find that matte polish formulas are always difficult to work with because of how quickly they dry. Thankfully these are easy to manipulate and there is plenty of time to smooth out most streaks. I would just caution you to allow the coats to dry fully before applying the second.

You can get these from all Kiko stores and online via their website priced at £3.90 each.

What do you think of these shades? Are you a matte polish fan?

  1. Both these colours are gorgeous vic! Shame about the clumpy formula but I think if one has the patience and ability to work with it then they are definitely great matte shades. Xx

    1. Thank you, they're both very pretty and I agree that if you can overcome the thick formula, the shades are worth it xx

  2. I'm such a HUGE fan of matte nails at the moment. I find matte polishes do have a bit of a weird formula and are a little tricker to apply then regular polish but they are so worth it! Love your swatches!

    1. Thank you, I also love matte nails and agree the formula is a little odd. I actually find normal polish with a matte topcoat infinitely easier to use ... no logic there :)
