Annika - Vintage Tea Party Collection

Contains PR Samples

Happy Thursday, I am so glad that today's a little sunny. The crisp air, blue skies and rays coming through the windows have really cheered me up. Yes it's still a little chilly, but spring is on it's way.

The Edge Nail Annika Polish - Vintage Tea Party Collection

Speaking of spring, today I have a very spring themed nail collection to show you. The Edge Nails released 30 Annika shades last year and it wasn't until I was browsing their website that I realised they had popped them into come collection trays for sale in salons - you know I love a polish collection.

Then very recently I was sent through some samples to try and amongst them was the gorgeous Pool Party and Mellow Yellow. I realised that these were part of the Vintage Tea Party collection and so had to pop on and buy the other 3 to complete the set (because I'm a weird polish collector that NEEDS full collections).

If you didn't already know, the Annika range comes in these gorgeous rectangular bottles with soft rubberised lids. The lids can easily come off which makes holding these polishes a breeze and the short stem and flat brush just make application faultless.

Right onto the swatches - the Vintage Tea Party Collection is made up of 5 pastel cremes, my favourite kind of spring shades.

Pool Party
This fresh sky blue creme polish is gorgeous. I have been loving blues more than usual this year and as soon as I saw this colour, I'd knew it'd be a favourite of mine. I needed 2 coats for full coverage and added a coat of topcoat to finish (although you don't need it for shine, these Annika shades are so glossy).

Pink Sherbet
This medium pink creme polish is another stunner. I can't help but love pink polish, I'm drawn to them every time. This colour needed 3 coats for full coverage and I finished with a coat of topcoat.

Mint Dream
This is a deep mint green creme and again I needed 2 coats for full coverage. This shade is amazing and although I don't wear greens as much as other colours, this is one I couldn't take off.

Mellow Yellow
This sunshine yellow pastel creme is actually a lot bolder on the nail than I expected. I needed 3 coats for full coverage and finished with a coat of topcoat.

Old Flame
This bright pastel orange creme is incredible. As soon as I tried this I fell in love. The formula is great and only needs 2 coats for full coverage (finished the swatch with topcoat).

So what are your thoughts on this collection? I love the shades and I love seeing them all together (how beautiful are they!). My fave has to be Old Flame, that shade is intense and looks so beautiful on.

The Edge Nail Annika Polish - Vintage Tea Party Collection

If you're interested in any of these polishes, you can buy them from The Edge Nails website, they're priced at £3.50 (without tax), £4.20 (with tax) each. However make sure you keep your eyes on @edgenails twitter as they sometimes do a 20% off flash sale which means you can buy these cheaper than the tax free price (a complete bargain).

My next purchase will def be the Fun In The Sun Collection - it has the same colours as this collection, they're just hyped up and more vibrant, the perfect polishes for summer!

Let me know your fave shade in the comments below and what spring pastel collections you're currently loving. I can't wait for more UK brands to release their spring colours.

  2. This is a great spring collection!! I'm the same as you when it comes to collections. I'm definitely an all or nothing girl (unless there is only one polish in the entire collection I like then I am more likely only going to buy the one polish)

    1. It's gorgeous and I'm loving the spring colour and weather we're having right now. I still find it difficult to buy just 1 from a collection, even if the rest aren't to my taste. I have such a greed when it comes to polish!
