Sometimes you receive PR packages that are out of this world and this was totally the case with this bundle of goodies from SensatioNAIL.
Shamefully I got this back in January and the main reason I am so late posting this review is because I wanted to fully test all 14 of the colours I was kind enough to be sent. The other reason is I'm a complete lazy bones.
As well as the 14 gel polishes, I was also very generously sent a lamp (an essential part of gel polish application). Now the preparation of your nails and application of gel polish is very different to normal polish, I wont go into details here, but if you aren't sure on this process, google it and save yourself many a ruined mani.
I have tried these gel polishes many times and on many different people, and the result is always the same - excellent. They require between 2-3 coats and cure perfectly with the SensatioNAIL's LED lamp.
Rouge-ing On Up
An apple red polish that would suit many skin tones and is good in 2 coats. I wore this on valentines and it's also on my toes now. I love it.
I Pink I Love You
This pinky toned coral is the perfect holiday shade and would look incredible with a tan. I can't to wear it in the summer. It took 2 coats.
Candy Cane Crush
An orange based glitter with red and silver particles that builds up to full coverage in 3 coats.
A gold shimmery tangerine, I was surprised it needed only 2 coats as it was very sheer on the first coat.
Tickle Me Tinsel
A clear base containing iridescent flakies. I applied 1 coat of this gorgeous glitter topper over a cream gel polish I was wearing.
This sage green base is filled with green and silver particles and although I only used 2 coats, I think 3 would be better. This is not a colour I would choose to wear on it's own, however I can see it being the perfect accent colour come Christmas time.
Steel A Kiss
I was really not expecting to love this as much as I did. It's a gorgeous icy blue shimmer and it was perfect in 2 coats.
Ride The Wave
A tropical sea blue with icy shimmer, that's almost identical in formula to Eternal Flame. Only 2 coats to full coverage.
Pinky Purple People Eater
Another surprising colour that I'm more than a little obsessed with. It has a pinky/purple toned base with blue shimmer and just glows on the nail. Its amazing and need 3 thin coats.
Never Tell A Lilac
A grey tinged lilac that looks more purple in darker lights. I needed 3 coats for this, although once or twice it did need 4 when they were thin.
A dark muted purple that needs only 2 coats.
Most possibly my favourite from the 14 I was sent (fortunate there were no pinks). It has an inky violet base with a bright silver shimmer and needs only 2 coats.
A sheer blue base with cobalt and silver glitter particles. Again I applied 2 coats but think a third would have covered some of the sheer patches on my nails.
This was a total surprise as it didn't look anything like the image on the bottle or box. However once I applied it I realised why as this is a very complex polish. It was a purple/black base with blue shimmer and tiny silver particles. I love it, and it was good in 3 coats.
I don't think I could possibly pick a fave from these 14, although I am a massive fan of Steel A Kiss and Iron Mama. Despite this, the one thing I can say with certainty is that SensatioNAIL is an amazing brand that not only offers an incredibly large array of colours in many finishes, but has produced a diy product of the highest quality.
At home gel nails have never been easier, or more beautiful.
If you're interested in buying any of these colours, you can pick them up online here and in boots stores priced at £12.50 each. The LED lamp is priced at £35 and is such a bargain.
Let me know if you have a favourite and if you've ever tried SensatioNAIL products, which your favourite is. I'm very intrigued to try the Polish To Gel products.
