Happy Friday folks and hooray for another 3 day weekend. Although the temperature here in the UK is more indicitive of winter, after swatching this collection, I can't help but feel all warm and summery inside.
Leighton Denny always release collections that are so inventive in both theme and colour. When I saw their Summer 2017 collection advertised on Instagram and Twitter, it was love at first sight. I couldn't believe it when LD themselves offered to send them to me.
Secrets Of The Souk is a collection that has such warm, humid and spicy vibes. I loved both the vibrancy and variety of colour and was so pleased to see some of LD's famous shimmers as well.
This paprika creme is a stunning polish and was nearly a 1 coater. However I added a second coat for luck and topped with LD's Crystal Finish topcoat.
This polish has a sheer pink jelly base and is full of golden shimmer. I wore 1 coat over a similar base colour, no topcoat.
I also added one coat over Saffron Hearts and love how the golden shimmer pops. I am sure Golden Sunset would look incredible over most colours, just use your imagination.
Nothing But Sand
A sunflower yellow creme that dries a tad darker than it looks in the bottle. I needed 3 coats (with topcoat) for this as I found the previous coats a tad streaky, however it could be my application as this has a slightly thicker creme formula.
This tan leather colour is very fitting for this collection and again I needed only 2 coats, with topcoat for this swatch.
Oasis Of Mint
This muted sage green base has loads of green shimmer packed into it which gives it a 'PVC' finish when dried. I needed 2 coats, plus topcoat for the swatch.
A stunning powder blue creme that was another perfect 2 coater (I added topcoat to finish).
I can't help but love this collection. My favourites are Golden Sands and Mosaic Chic. I would love to be able to wear these polishes while strolling along the bazaars and shopping amongst snake charmers and piles of fragrant spices, but that is totally not happening any time soon.
If, like me, you're a fan of the Secrets Of The Souk collection, you can buy the full 6 piece here priced at £60, or individually for £12 from the LD Boutique online.
Have a lovely evening, I plan on eating lots of food, taking a long bath while watching a girly film and crawling into bed super early, most likely with my electric blanket on full.
P.S if you haven't already seen it, yesterdays blog post featured a small Primark giveaway, check it out here.
