PR Sample

Happy Saturday, hope you're having a lovely evening. I am just about to take myself off to bed, but before I do, I want to show you these gorgeous shades from Nails Inc.

I received these last week and I was blown away, they're everything I love in a polish and I never expected to be reviewing another set of gorgeous Nails Inc polishes this month, especially after blogging about the Nails Inc Spring 2017 Pastels just over a week ago.

Although the Rainbow Riot collection doesn't technically include White Out, as I received it at the same time as the others, I'm including it in this review.

Acid House
This toxic neon green has a yellow undertone. The formula is a little on the sheer side so don't skimp on the thickness of the coats, or else you'll end up needing 5/6 of them. In the end I managed with 4 thin coats and added a topcoat as it dries to a semi matte finish.

Pink Rave
This hot pink neon is a stunning shade and like Acid House, it has a sheer formula, but not as sheer. I needed 3 thick coats for full coverage, with added topcoat.

Coral Club
This tropical mango neon is so beautiful, although it's not as glaringly bright as the others. Like the others though the formula was a tad sheer and I needed 3 coats and topcoat for the swatch.

White Out
This white creme dries to a gorgeous shine. I managed to get 2 of my 4 swatch nails covered in 2 coats and the other 2 in 3 coats. I think it depends on how much you load the brush,

I also created a simple waterfall mani with all the polishes and luckily remembered to take a quick picture using a UV lamp, showing you just how much they glow (I'm holding Pink Rave in that image).

I love the colours and it's nice these neons don't need a white base, however it's a shame the formula is so sheer that they need so many coats. I can see them being amazing lead lighting shades for reverse stamping decals and will be fab to layer over other bases such as flakies and glitters. I am going to play around with my application technique just in case I was being a bit too sparse with the polish and if anything changes with regards to coat number, I'll pop back and amend this review.

If you're interesting in picking these up, you can shop them on the Nails Inc website and in selected retailers priced at £11 each.

Let me know what you think about these colours, I'm actually leaning away from the pink and towards Acid House (don't be too shocked, you know I'm also a sucker for those odd green/yellow shades as well).

Have a lovely evening,

Vicky x

  3. Ooooh more neons! I love that acid green; it's too bad it takes so many coats! At least it would probably be easier with a white base. Still, it looks amazing even without it! I am really loving your glow-in-the dark waterfall nail art- so much fun!!

  5. Fabulous review/post!! Love seeing them in nail art as well! I agree, sheer polishes aren't what I tend to reach for either (unless they are meant to be jelly like)...but sometimes they do fit the bill. Thanks for stating that these swatches are without white, BTW. Love that black light photo too! <3
