PR Sample

Happy weekend, today I have a rather overdue post for you. In fact I am a little unsure about whether or not these beauties are still available but I feel like they should still be showcased here on my bog.

As everyone knows (because I've not stopped talking about it) my blogging mojo has been a little off since I lost my dad back in July. However I still really love blogging and regardless of how long it takes for me to get posts finish, they will eventually get up.

Hayley over at Danglefoot Polish curated the most gorgeous 7 polishes in the Whodunit Collection. I know that this collection was released back at the end of September and was an instant hit (obviously), so without further ado, here are the stunners.

There's Been A Murrrder
Due to the hit and miss autumnal sunshine, I ended up taking these with my flash - so excuse that, but I couldn't not show you just how beautiful the holo is. This polish is a neutral toned holo wonder that also contains bronze flakies. I needed 2/3 coats for full coverage, no topcoat.

The Butler Did It
This thermal polish is bright pink when cold and shifts to a translucent pale pink when warm and is full of shimmer and purple flakies. I ended up applying 3 coats of this because I wanted the thermal change to be really obvious when I took the swatch pictures for Hayley. However you would be good with just 2 coats.

On a side not, thermals must be the hardest type of polish for me to photograph (so I'm sorry if these don't really do the polish justice). I know a lot of bloggers do the dippy fingers in cups, but I have a weird wet skin issue, so I held my fingers on a cold tin of pink lemonade for ages to get my tips to cool down enough to take a pic.

Number One Suspect
This is a UV activated polish which changes from a calming sky blue to a lovely lavender when exposed to the sun. It is full of Hayley's trademark shimmer and flakie (green) combo as well. On the day I took this picture, it was actually beautifully sunny and warm, so the transition is a little more severe than normal (the polish won't go that dark in normal sun). I used 3/4 coats.

Professor Plum
This deep purple has a blinding linear holo finish and like There's Been A Murrrder, I used a flash to take this photos and capture the holo. I used 2/3 coats for full coverage.

It's A Red Herring
This deep teal jelly polish has a gorgeous shimmery finish and looks so juicy on the nail. However it is also in the colour family that my camera (cough phone) just can not capture properly, so just bear in mind that in real life it's more teal than blue. I needed 3 coats to build this up to a solid colour.

*** Be warned that this polish will stain your nails if you don't wear a double layer of base coat. When I saw this polish I made a mental note to double up the base, which I promptly forgot when I swatched it and ended up with lovely blue tinted nails for a couple of days after ***

In The Library With The Nail File
Lets just take a moment to compose ourselves for the next couple of polishes. I am a huge duo/multi chrome fan and these polishes are just INCREDIBLE. The shift from deep blue through purple, to green in itself is heart stoppingly gorgeous but the addition of flakies takes this polish a step further. Although the first coat is almost nonexistent, this polish builds up perfectly in 3 thin coats.

I Was Framed
Saving the best to last, I Was Framed is another multichrome that has THE most amazing autumnal inspired shift. The colours move from gold through amber to a pinky red. This needed 2 coats and has to be my fave from the collection. I wore this for days after swatching (like properly, on all 10 of my nails), and if that isn't a testament to how much I love this polish, I don't know what is.

So there we have it, Hayley did good right?!  My fave as stated is I Was Framed and of course In The Library With The Nail File, but I am giving an honourable favourite to The Butler Did It. I don't think I have ever swatched such a complex collection full of so many different colours and finishes, but these are all unbelievable.

If you're interested in grabbing any Danglies, pop over to Hayley's store and purchase away. You will not be disappointed, the quality is up there with the best of the UK indies and I know I am keeping my eyes peeled and bank card at the ready for the upcoming Tim Burton collab with Lea at Sparklea Nail polish.

Please let me know your most favourite polish finish and whether or not you're team #multichrome.

Vicky xx

  1. I really wanted some of these but I was at a concert on the day they were realeased and by the next day the ones I wanted had sold out. I really wanted in the library with a nail file, it's a red herring, professor plum and the UV one. Hopefully I will be able to get the another time! This swatches are just stunning!! Xx

    1. Ah thank you. It's so easy to swatch polishes when they're so lovely. All those are fab choices and Hayley mentioned that she is going to restock some on the weekend so I hope you manage to grab them then xx
